A Note From Our Founder

I Was Trained to Help People’s Minds. Then My Own Health Changed the Question.

For years, I watched people work hard in counseling and still struggle to move forward. Eventually, I found myself living that same frustration.

I have spent more than 20 years as a counselor. I founded a counseling practice in Western Pennsylvania in 2009 and watched it grow to more than 60 counselors serving clients across multiple states. We witnessed meaningful breakthroughs—but also a pattern I could not ignore: sometimes addressing the mind alone was not enough.

During years of prolonged stress, I developed fatigue, brain fog, insulin resistance, inflammation, digestive concerns, and chronic pain. Anxiety, depression, and irritability followed. I understood mental-health strategies, but insight and coping skills alone did not resolve what was happening in my body or restore the person I knew I could be.

At a point when I felt resigned to living that way, I prayed for answers. God led me to the right people, new understanding, and practical help. As my physical health began to improve, so did my clarity, resilience, and hope. I experienced personally what I had begun to recognize professionally: physical health, mental well-being, lifestyle, and spiritual well-being cannot always be separated.

That realization became the foundation of NuWell Health and, ultimately, the NuWell Method—a collaborative approach created to listen to the whole story, explore how the pieces may be connected, and help each person find a practical path forward.

You Have Heard My Story

Now We Want to Hear Yours.

The NuWell Method begins by listening—not assuming. Your experiences, priorities, beliefs, and goals help shape every conversation and every possible next step.

Your Expertise

You Know Your Life

You bring the lived experience: what you feel, what you have tried, what matters to you, and where you hope to go. Your voice remains central throughout the process.

Our Expertise

We Know the Process

NuWell practitioners bring distinct clinical perspectives and a structured process for exploring connections, clarifying options, and developing recommendations with you.

Behind the scenes, our practitioners consult and collaborate. You receive the benefit of connected thinking while continuing to work in partnership with the practitioner who knows your story.

The NuWell Method

One Story. Four Connected Areas.

The NuWell Method brings together four areas that are often discussed separately. Rather than forcing your concerns into isolated categories, we explore how they may influence one another and what deserves attention next.

Physical Health

Symptoms, body systems, nutrition, hormones, digestion, inflammation, and other physical factors that may affect how you feel.

Mental Well-Being

Mood, stress, clarity, resilience, relationships, and the emotional patterns that are part of your complete health story.

Lifestyle

Sleep, movement, nourishment, environment, responsibilities, and daily rhythms considered within the realities of your life.

Spiritual Well-Being

Faith, meaning, values, and spiritual concerns included according to your beliefs, preferences, and comfort level.

Collaboration Is Part of the Method

Different Expertise. One Connected Conversation.

NuWell brings together natural health, functional nutrition, mental-health consultation, and faith-informed support. Each person contributes a distinct perspective while working within one shared approach.
